Dubai Offers 5 Engaging Summer Activities for Children
As families anxiously await the arrival of summer holidays, creating an engaging itinerary for children can often prove challenging. Fortunately, Dubai has stepped up, offering a variety of workshops, programs, and summer activities aimed at keeping children entertained and educated throughout August. These activities cater to various interests, including culinary arts, mindfulness, and strategic gaming.
Explorers & Creators Academy at Paus
Paus Club, located in Jumeirah, has organized a unique program focused on its core principles of love, health, work, and play. The Explorers group, designed for children aged six to nine, will engage in creative storytelling by crafting their own puppets. Meanwhile, the “Keep Calm & Breathe On” workshop introduces mindfulness techniques to help children navigate their emotions.
For older children aged ten to twelve, known as the Creators group, the program offers interactive activities like a mindful version of musical chairs and nutrition lessons where they learn to make their own smoothies. Both age groups will also have opportunities to participate in yoga, artistic workshops, and a family-oriented obstacle course aimed at fostering teamwork.
The activities are scheduled throughout August at Paus Club in Jumeirah.
Fin & Bone
Al Barari’s Fin & Bone, a premium fishery and butchery, is hosting a series of culinary masterclasses this summer. Children aged six and older can participate in a sausage-making workshop designed to impart new skills and facilitate bonding time with their peers. Participants will learn the fundamentals of sausage production and can take their creations home.
Additionally, Fin & Bone offers masterclasses focusing on pies, sausage rolls, and beef Wellington for teenagers. These classes take place from Wednesday to Sunday and start at Dhs150 per person.
Chess Juniors at Win x Tashkeel
Win Chess Juniors, the youth division of Win Chess Club, has partnered with Tashkeel Studio for a specialized chess program conducted every Sunday. This expert-led experience aims to teach children the basics of chess through interactive lessons, engaging puzzles, and friendly competitions. The curriculum covers essential strategies and problem-solving methods.
While the children are immersed in these activities, parents can enjoy a meal at Gerbou, a well-loved Emirati restaurant in Dubai.
Kids Pizza Academy at Dodo Pizza
Dodo Pizza has launched the Kids Pizza Academy, specifically designed for children aged three to twelve. This culinary initiative allows kids to explore their cooking skills in a space tailored for educational and entertaining experiences.
Daily masterclasses are offered and are categorized by age group, allowing children to develop their confidence and unleash their creativity. Each one-hour session includes making pizza dough, selecting toppings, and then savoring their culinary creations. As a conclusion to the class, participants receive a “Master of Pizza” diploma, adding an official touch to their cooking journey.
Sessions occur daily at a fee of Dhs79 at the Kids Pizza Academy located in Jumeirah Lakes Towers.
The Little Chef’s Club at The Farm
The Farm in Al Barari invites children aged four to ten to join The Little Chef’s Club this summer. This initiative encourages young aspiring chefs to engage in hands-on workshops that include cookie and cupcake decorating, as well as pizza making.
While children enjoy their culinary projects, parents can take advantage of a diverse a la carte menu or indulge in afternoon tea. Workshops are scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays, costing Dhs130 per child.
